Privacy Policy
Who we are
MedMneme (medmneme.com) is an independent app run by its owner, who is based in Tamil Nadu, India. In these documents 'we' and 'us' mean MedMneme and its owner. We decide how your personal data is used, and we are responsible for it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for users in the UK and European Union, data protection law there.
What is kept on your device
Your quiz history, paused quizzes, saved exams, the name you entered, your acceptance of these terms and your Settings are stored in your browser's or app's local storage on this device. They stay on the device, and clearing site data or uninstalling the app removes them.
What we collect if you create an account
If you choose to create an account, we store your email address, the name you give and your quiz history using Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, so your progress survives a change of device. We use this data only to run your account and sync your progress.
Using the app without an account
You can use every study feature as a guest. In guest mode none of your study data leaves your device.
Messages you send us
If you email us or report a question, we keep your message and email address to reply and to fix the content.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription, payment is handled by Google Play or the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never your card or bank details.
No advertising or tracking
There is no advertising, no advertising identifier, no third-party tracking and no profiling in MedMneme, and we never sell your data. If we ever add privacy-friendly usage statistics, this policy will be updated first.
Who processes data for us
Google (Firebase) stores account data, Cloudflare hosts the website and app at medmneme.com and may keep standard server logs such as IP addresses for security, and Google Play or Apple handle purchases. These providers act on our instructions under their own security and data protection commitments. Account data may be stored on servers outside India, where these providers apply appropriate safeguards.
Why we may process your data
We process account data with your consent, given when you create an account, and to provide the service you asked for. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
How long we keep data
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of your account being deleted. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your request. Data on your device stays until you clear it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, raise a grievance and, in India, nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated. Users in the UK and EU also have rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to complain to their data protection authority. To exercise any right, email us.
How to delete your account
To delete your account and its synced data, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account with the subject 'Delete my account'. We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days. Data stored only on your device can be removed at any time with Clear quiz history in Settings or by uninstalling the app.
Children
MedMneme is intended for medical students and graduates and is not directed at children. If you are under 18, use the app only with a parent's or guardian's consent, and do not create an account without it.
Security
Account data is protected by your password and by our providers' security measures. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password you do not reuse elsewhere.
Grievances
Questions, complaints or requests about your personal data can be sent to our grievance contact at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your message within 72 hours and respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will be shown in the app for acceptance and the date above will change. The current version is always available at medmneme.com/privacy.html.
